Our plants are a feast for the senses — the sights, sounds and smells can be overwhelming. Among all the sounds you might hear, you often pick up the sounds of familiar musical tones. From “Happy Birthday” to ”How much is that Doggie in the Window”, a discerning ear can catch some interesting tones from time to time.
These tones ring out when employees pull the Andon cord, a method used by team members to provide an audible signal to their team and/or group leaders that indicates attention or help is needed along the line. Pulling the Andon ensures that support is provided in a timely manner.
