ELECTRIFICATION
ELECTRIFICATION
As our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands introduce more EVs, it is our goal to simplify the charging experience for electric vehicle owners at home and in public. GM Energy will holistically integrate charging networks, brand mobile apps, home energy products, and commercial services to create a seamless charging experience.
GM is helping accelerate infrastructure growth by working alongside EVgo to make available more than 3,250 fast-charging stations by the end of 2025. EVgo’s fast chargers deliver convenient, fast charges to EV drivers on the go. The first GM and EVgo sites are now live, and we’re currently on track to have approximately 500 fast-charging stalls live by the end of the 2021.
To provide our customers more convenience when it comes to EV charging, GM is working with major EV charging providers including Blink®️ Charging, ChargePoint®️, EVgo, and FLO®️. Through MyChevrolet and other brand apps, customers will be able to easily see real-time information from hundreds of thousands of places to charge throughout the U.S. and Canada, find charging stations along a route and pay for charging.
As home is one of the primary locations EV drivers will charge for those with a dedicated parking spot, GM Energy collaborates with Qmerit, which manages a nationwide network of certified EV charger installers, helping to simplify the home charging experience. Working with Qmerit, electric vehicle owners can easily find and obtain quotes from pre-approved EV charging station installers. In collaboration with Qmerit, Chevrolet will cover standard installation of Level 2 charging outlets for most qualified and eligible customers who purchase or lease a 2022 Bolt EUV or Bolt EV.
We believe that the democratization of charging is vital to helping accelerate the mass adoption of electric vehicles.
